The King of Fruits – “Mango”

The mango is frequently known as the king of fruit and the reason behind this is the color, taste and beauty of this fruit. Mangoes are considered as the most accepted fruit worldwide and are especially popular in Southeast Asia and in countries like India, Pakistan, Hawaii and Mexico Mango is considered as the seasonal fruit and generally it is available in early summer season or in late springs. Mangoes have different species such as Afonso de Albuquerque, Alphonso, and this is expensive quality mango which is also known as Hapoos. This variety of mango is available in Maharashtra and other regions of India. Different qualities and species of mangoes are produced in southern district of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, devgad, Taluka and in other places or districts.

Mango is not only a fruit but is also an herb used for many health benefits which contains lots of vitamins and minerals in it. Growth of mango is quite good in India but one cannot ignore the fact that this is one of the favorite fruit in India. The way apple is recognized in America the same way mango is very well known in India. Small villages of India produce large quantity of mangoes and some of them are also exported to the other countries via ships and mails. Southern states in India are also producing good quality of mangoes and due to the climate change in different states quality of mangoes is also differ.

Mango is widely used in Indian dishes, especially in summer drinks such as mango shake, aampanna, and mango lassi and mango juice. They are most favorite refreshing summer drinks which are energetic and healthy as well. Many dishes like pickles and curries of mangoes are very popular in India.

Apart from the health benefits and significance of mango this fruits is also considered as religious fruit in India.
