Mangoes are known as ‘king of fruits’ and this is widely accepted fruit which is cultivated in India in huge quality in the states of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharastra. Every state have different climate and so they produce different quality of mango fruit. Mangoes are the primary fruit crop in Andhra Pradesh and occupy almost 2.76 lakh hectares area for the cultivation of mango. About sixty percent of the area is indulge in mango cultivation. Regions that are involved in cultivation of mango fruit are East and West Godavari district, Krishna district, Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar, Chitoor, Visakhapatnam districts, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam. All these districts of Andhra Pradesh together produced 3.25 Lakh tons of mango annually.

Few popular and best varieties of mangoes cultivates here are Kesar, Langra, Totapuri and Neelum. The demand of fresh mango fruits and processed food items in international and domestic market has shown a decent increase. Additionally, this demand is considered to be increased surprisingly in coming years. This estimation is creating a necessity for growing more and more mango fruits and mango pulps to cater the growing demand of international market.

Mango pulps are widely accepted in global food market and every year many of the mango products are exported to the international market. Small domestic industries are also getting the benefits of this increased demand as they are getting more and more work of producing processed mango products. Mango pulp is used for making food items which includes ice creams, fruit meals, confectionery products and jams and jellies.

Gulf States are the leading importers of Mango fruits and Mango pulp. Europe, UK, Japan and America are following countries. Even Indian Government is planning the new projects for producing more canned fruit pulp for export purposes. Potential regions for new projects are situated in Andhra Pradesh since those regions are growing good quality of mango in large quantity.
